2 killed in ‘watercraft accident’ in Brevard County, FWC says

A woman and a man were killed in a collision between two watercraft along the St. Johns River in Brevard County on Sunday.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it and several other agencies responded to the accident in the area of S.R. 528 and Challenger Memorial Parkway.

FWC officials said each vessel had an operator and a passenger, and all four people were ejected into the water.

A female passenger in one of the vessels was found unconscious and taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The operator of the vessel, a 23-year-old man, was not found until Monday morning by FWC dive teams. He was also pronounced dead.

The two people on the other boat were unhurt.
