Deputies: Man shot in knee cap in West Pensacola; suspect unknown

A man was shot in the knee cap by another man on Saturday afternoon, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says.

The shooting happened on North Y and Mallory streets around 12:15 p.m.

The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening, according to deputies. They say the victim claims to not have known the shooter.

The suspect left the scene before law enforcement arrived, deputies say.
