A Pensacola mother killed her 10-year-old daughter in a murder-suicide, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies responded Monday morning to the 2000 block of North B Street near Lakeview Avenue for a welfare check.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies located a woman deceased in a bed with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. They also found her 10-year-old daughter laying in the bed deceased with a gunshot wound.
“The subsequent investigation revealed that the female had taken the life of her 10-year-old daughter before turning the gun on herself,” the sheriff’s office says in a release.
No further details have been released at this time, including the mother’s age or identity.
An investigation is ongoing.
