Dirt bike rider dies after Belle Glade crash three days earlier

A 28-year-old motorcyclist died on Tuesday after a crash at a Belle Glade intersection three days earlier when a car turned in front of his dirt bike.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report indicates JT was riding west on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard late Saturday night. As he approached the Southwest 8th Street intersection, a Chrysler 300 coming the other way made a left turn.

The Yamaha bike crashed into the turning sedan, knocking T into the car’s windshield before he fell onto the road, investigators determined. They noted that he was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Emergency crews rushed to the intersection shortly before 11 p.m. where they found T lying in the road. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where he died three days later.

The driver of the Chrysler stopped at the scene.

The report indicates that drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the wreck.
