Fire and smoke consumed a home on Seminole Boulevard in Port Charlotte on Saturday night.
Crews responded to the scene at approximately 9:13 p.m.
When Charlotte County firefighters arrived, flames were coming out of the windows and doors of the home. Crews were able to put out the fire.
No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries, but one dog died in the fire. According to Charlotte County Public Safety officials, the home is uninhabitable, and the Red Cross is helping the homeowners.
The Charlotte County fire marshal and Florida state fire marshal are investigating what caused the fire.
