A domestic disturbance on Saturday night in the resulted in a two hour standoff and shooting, leaving two individuals injured in Pensacola.
The incident occurred on the 100 block of West Avery Street around 6 p.m. when the suspect, who was inside the residence, initially refused to exit, prompting road closures in the area, according to the Pensacola Police Department.
Officers say that a woman sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where she is in stable condition.
After SWAT teams were activated and negotiations attempted, the suspect was found inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to PPD.
The suspect was trauma alerted to a local hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
