The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal traffic accident on Friday night.
According to a news release, a 37-year-old Chipley woman, driving an SUV, was traveling south in the inside lane of travel located on U.S. Highway 231, just south of Dionne Road.
The pedestrian was a 34-year-old man from Dothan, Alabama, who was walking south in the inside lane of travel.
Due to the collision, the pedestrian was thrown into the air before colliding with a construction sign that was located in the median, troopers said.
FHP confirmed the pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
