An 83-year-old driver crashed his car into a Clearwater house on Wednesday afternoon.

The Clearwater Police Department said officers were called to the 2900 block of Heather Trail after a car went partially through a wall of a house.

“The 83-year-old driver said his foot slipped from the brake to the gas while he was in the garage,” the police department posted on Facebook.

Officers said the man sustained a minor cut to his hand and did not have to go to the hospital.

Clearwater firefighters were called to the scene to assess the structural safety of the home.
