Driver dies after veering off road, crashes into tree line on I-95 SB at CR 214 in St. Johns County

A 63-year-old man died in a crash on I-95 SB at County Road 214 in St. Johns County on Thursday.

Officials said a person driving a freightliner box truck in the right lane veered off the road and crashed into the tree line for reasons still under investigation.

The truck came to a final rest facing south on the west shoulder within the tree line. FHP said the driver died at the scene.

There are no blockages, but the right lane is reserved for first responders.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area.
