Driver faces multiple charges after fleeing from troopers in Fort Myers

A driver was arrested Saturday night and faces multiple charges after fleeing from troopers during a traffic stop in Fort Myers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a Nissan Armada was recklessly driving west on State Road 80 (Palm Beach Boulevard).

After attempting a traffic stop, the driver fled west, traveling over the curb and sidewalk and sideswiping another car.

The driver was placed under arrest shortly after and faces the following charges:

  • Flee to Elude
  • Reckless Driving
  • Hit and Run
  • Driving as a Habitual Traffic Offender
  • Driving While License Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled/disqualified, 3rd or subsequent
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2) for possession of Xanax* Drug Paraphernalia
