Driver hospitalized after canal crash in Collier County

An Ave Maria man is in critical condition following a canal crash in Collier County on Sunday.

According to the report, the 42-year-old driver was traveling north on the southbound lane of Camp Keais Road near Ranch One Road around noon.

The driver lost control, veering across the shoulder and ultimately submerging his vehicle in the canal.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the man was critically injured and taken to a local hospital.

FHP is still investigating this crash.
