Driver in critical condition after being thrown from his vehicle in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – One man is in critical condition after being ejected from his vehicle early Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV was traveling west on CR-280, west of Papa Granny Way, around 4:30 a.m.

FHP reports the SUV crossed the center line and entered the south shoulder, struck a mailbox, and continued traveling before striking a drainage culvert.

The vehicle became airborne and eventually overturned into the nearby tree line. The driver was thrown from the SUV.

The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire and Rescue, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
