Driver of electric scooter killed in crash with Tesla in Miami Shores: MDSO

The driver of an electric scooter died on Tuesday after a crash with a Tesla in Miami Shores, according to authorities and video of the scene.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said traffic homicide detectives responded to the scene at North Miami Avenue and Northeast 103rd Street and assumed the investigation before 10 a.m.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle and a scooter were involved in a traffic crash,” authorities said.

The driver of the scooter did not survive. Their name was not immediately released.

Video of the scene showed a Tesla behind yellow police tape with damage to its hood. Behind it, the scooter lay on its side.

Authorities did not say if the driver of the vehicle would face charges in the crash.
