Driver of mini-motorcycle killed in Orange County crash, troopers say

 A 48-year-old man driving a mini-motorcycle was killed on Saturday evening in a crash in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 6:38 p.m. on Silver Star Road.

According to a preliminary crash report, a Honda Navi was traveling east on Silver Star Road, east of Mercy Drive.

Troopers said the driver of the mini-motorcycle lost control and struck a curb and was then thrown from the bike.

The driver – identified as a 48-year-old Oviedo man who was not wearing a helmet – was taken to ORMC where he was pronounced dead, according to the FHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
