The driver of a mobility scooter is fighting for their life after being struck by a vehicle in Largo Saturday night.
According to the Largo Police Department, the crash happened just after 8 p.m. at the intersection of North Missouri Avenue and 4th Avenue Northwest.
Officials said a Buick Regal was traveling south on Missouri Avenue, going through the intersection of 4th Ave NW under a green light, when a person on a mobility scooter entered the roadway.
The pedestrian on the scooter was not in the crosswalk and did not have the right-of-way, according to police.
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Buick was not injured, and did not show any signs of impairment, officials said.
No further details were released. The crash remains under investigation.
