Driver, pedestrian hospitalized following Hollywood crash

Two people were injured Friday morning in a crash in Hollywood, first responders confirmed.

According to Hollywood Fire Rescue officials, crews responded to the 900 block of North Federal Highway at about 5:54 a.m. after receiving a report about a crash involving injuries.

Paramedics then discovered that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.

Officials said the driver and pedestrian were both transported to a local hospital as trauma alerts.

Hollywood police said the roadway is currently shut down in both directions as the investigation continues.

No other details were immediately released.
