Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Hialeah early Thursday that left a cyclist dead.
The cyclist was struck by a vehicle in the area of Southeast 8th Avenue and Okeechobee Road around 4:30 a.m., Hialeah Police officials said.
The driver fled the scene.
Hialeah Fire Department crews responded and brought the cyclist to Jackson Memorial Hospital in extremely critical condition, police said.
He later died at the hospital. His identity hasn’t been released.
Police haven’t released a possible description of the vehicle.
An investigation was ongoing.
