A dump track crashed into an 88-year-old Pensacola woman crossing the street in a motorized wheelchair Wednesday morning in Escambia County.

It happened around 10:15 a.m. on Mobile Highway near W Fairfield Drive.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was crossing Mobile Highway in a motorized wheelchair, while the dump truck — driven by a 40-year-old Pensacola man — was traveling north on Mobile Highway.

“The front of the dump truck collided with the pedestrian, entrapping the pedestrian under the truck,” FHP says in a release.

The woman was transported by EMS with minor injuries.
