Early morning crash into power pole claims man’s life in Port St. Lucie

One person died in a single-vehicle crash around 6:30 a.m. off Southwest Bayshore Boulevard.

The adult man, who has not been identified, was driving his brown Toyota Sequoias southbound when he left the roadway, the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said. He then struck a concrete power pole and initially was listed as having life-threatening injuries.

Emergency responders took the man to Lawnwood Hospital where he later died.

Police asked the public to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing.
