Early morning crashes shut down northbound lanes of Palmetto Expressway

Several crashes on the Palmetto expressway caused a traffic mess for commuters on Thursday morning.

They happened in the northbound lanes of State Road 826 just before the Okeechobee Road exit.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, there were a total of three separate crashes that occurred, involving approximately 10 vehicles.

Views from Sky10 showed multiple vehicles that appeared to be involved in the accident.

All northbound lanes were closed as authorities investigated the crash and workers cleaned up debris. The lanes began to reopen as the sun began to rise.

There has been no word on any injuries.
