Two people were injured in a crash in Escambia County Saturday morning involving a car and a rural mail carrier’s vehicle.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 29, situated between Cox Road and Sigler Road, north of McDavid.
Firefighters were required to extricate the mail carrier from their vehicle following the crash, according to deputies.
Both drivers were subsequently transported to local hospitals by Newman’s Ambulance and Escambia County EMS.
The conditions of the injured parties have not been disclosed.
A representative from the U.S. Post Office in Century retrieved the mail from the scene for later delivery.
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident and has yet to determine the cause.
