Escambia County crash leaves 19-year-old hospitalized, driver arrested for fleeing scene

A 19-year-old Pensacola man is seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in Escambia County on Saturday morning, according to FHP.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 8 a.m. on Airport Boulevard and Palafox Street when a 43-year-old Pensacola man driving a white pickup truck was traveling southbound on Palafox Street approaching the intersection with Airport Boulevard.

The 19-year-old was traveling northbound on Palafox Street approaching the same intersection on a blue motorcycle, according to FHP.

Troopers say the 43-year-old attempted a left turn in front of the motorcycle driver onto eastbound Airport Blvd and struck the motorcycle in the intersection.

The motorcyclist was transported to Baptist Hospital with serious injuries, according to FHP.

Troopers say the pickup truck driver fled the scene to a house in the Warrington Neighborhood.

Through further investigation, the 43-year-old driver was identified as M D O Isabel and arrested for leaving the scene and driving without a driver’s license.

O I is currently being held in Escambia County Jail on no bond.
