A two-vehicle crash in Escambia County on Tuesday night resulted in four individuals being transported to area hospitals, according to Escambia County Fire Rescue.
Emergency crews say the incident occurred at the intersection of Nine Mile Road and Airway Drive around 9:06 p.m. and involved two cars, with one person trapped inside.
Fire rescue units responded to the scene and used battery-powered and hydraulic extrication tools to remove the entire driver’s side of the car, allowing access to the trapped individual.
ECFR says the situation was brought under control by 10:03 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
Assistance at the scene was provided by Escambia County EMS, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Highway Patrol.
