Escambia County home destroyed in afternoon fire in Warrington

An Escambia County home is a total loss following a fire Saturday afternoon.

It broke outjust before 4:30 p.m. in the 500 block of S 2nd Street in the Warrington area.

Multiple Escambia County fire units were called to the scene. Heavy flames and smoke were visible when they arrived.

Firefighters put the fire out by 5 p.m.

According to the county, two adults and a dog were displaced. Red Cross is assisting.

No one was injured.

An investigation is ongoing.
