Family of 5 displaced after Miami home catches on fire: Fire Rescue

A family of five was displaced after their home in Miami caught on fire early Tuesday, fire rescue officials said.

According to Miami Fire Rescue, crews received reports of a residential fire at 2260 Southwest 24th Terrace shortly after 5 a.m.

Once at the scene, heavy smoke and flames were seen coming out of the home’s garage, prompting firefighters to advance house lines to attack the fire, while other crews searched the home for people.

Officials said a carport and the garage were fully engulfed in flames, and it took about 10 minutes to control the fire.

All the residents in the home were safely evacuated, including their pets, which included a dog and several birds.

Due to the home receiving smoke damage from the fire, the family and their pets have become displaced, but will be staying with relatives.

An investigation into the fire is now underway.
