One person is dead and another has critical injuries following a crash in Bay County early Sunday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), an SUV was traveling westbound on the inside lanes behind a motorcycle on Thomas Drive.
FHP says the driver of the SUV failed to slow down and hit the back of the motorcycle.
The collision caused the motorcycle to overturn and eject both the driver and the passenger.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 64-year-old Panama City Beach man was pronounced dead on the scene and the passenger, a 28-year-old Fort Walton Beach woman was transported to an area hospital.
FHP says the 26-year-old driver of the SUV, AM continued to travel on Thomas Drive until he stopped at the intersection on Joan Avenue.
Police located him and he was arrested for DUI manslaughter, DUI serious bodily injury, leaving the scene resulting in death and leaving the scene resulting in serious bodily injury.
We’re told he was transported to an area hospital to be cleared before being transported to the Bay County Jail.
