A 36-year-old Altoona man has died after being hit by a vehicle in Calhoun County on Wednesday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at around 5:30 a.m., a man was walking southbound on NW Melvin New Grade Road when he was hit by a vehicle.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
The man was found by a bystander who called in the crash to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
We’re told FHP was notified of the fatality and is taking over the investigation.
