FHP: 57-year-old Navarre man dead after crashing into semi-trailer in Jackson County

A 57-year-old Navarre man is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck in Jackson County, Florida, on Friday morning.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. on I-10 at Mile Marker 155 Westbound, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Florida Highway Patrol says the man was traveling in the outside lane of I-10 in his sport utility vehicle when he hit a disabled semi-truck.

The semi-truck was parked partially on the north paved shoulder and partially in the outside westbound lane, facing west, says FHP.

According to FHP, the man didn’t slow down or merge into the inside lane to avoid the semi-truck. He struck the reflector sign, located on the north fog line of the roadway.

After hitting the sign, FHP says he then crashed into the truck’s semi-trailer.

FHP is investigating the crash further.
