FHP: Arcadia woman killed trying to cross Jones Loop Rd. in Charlotte County; hit by semi truck

A fatal crash involving a semitruck and a woman happened on Jones Loop Road at Mac Drive Wednesday night.

Florida Highway Patrol says the 25-year-old woman from Arcadia was attempting to cross Jones Loop Road, east of the intersection with Knights Drive.

The semitruck was driving and hit the woman.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says Jones Loop Rd. at Mac Dr. will be closed for an extended time.
