The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a driver over the weekend who they said led troopers on a chase that started on Florida’s Turnpike and ended in Miami Gardens.

According to FHP, troopers attempted to stop a stolen Blue Infiniti SUV around 5:30 p.m. Sunday on the Turnpike near Northwest 27th Avenue.

But authorities said the driver wouldn’t stop and led troopers on a chase that ended when the Infiniti crashed into a marked FHP unit in the area of Northwest 186th Terrace and 32nd Avenue in Miami Gardens.

Troopers said the driver fled on foot, but was taken into custody a short time later.

His identity has not yet been released.
