FHP: Man, 19, dies after crashing motorcycle along Goldenrod Road in Orlando

Troopers are investigating a deadly traffic crash in Orange County.

Update:

Troopers say a 19-year-old Orlando man died as a result of Friday morning’s crash.

Investigators said the man was was driving his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Goldenrod Road.

FHP said the crash happened after the driver of a northbound SUV, attempting to turn onto Mai Tai Drive, turned directly into the motorcyclist’s path.

Troopers said the motorcyclist swerved to avoid a collision with the SUV, and in doing so, lost control of his bike.

The rider fell from the bike. He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center but did not survive.

FHP said the SUV’s driver wasn’t hurt and remained at the crash scene.

Names of those involved in the crash have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.

It happened along Goldenrod Road near Mai Tai Drive in Orlando around 2 a.m. on Friday.

Florida Highway Patrol closed the southbound lanes of Goldenrod Road during their investigation.

Channel 9 had a crew near the scene of this deadly crash, which appeared to involve a motorcycle and a car.

Troopers finished clearing debris from the crash and reopened the road around 5:30 a.m.
