After Orange County Fire Rescue rescued a man from a submerged vehicle on Monday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol confirms he has died from the crash.

According to a report from FHP, a 52-year-old Orlando man was traveling eastbound on LBV Factory Stores Drive when he came to a roundabout at Poinciana Boulevard. Troopers say the man failed to negotiate the roundabout, causing his vehicle to hit a curb, go airborne and land in a nearby retention pond.

Fire rescue confirmed that the man was rescued from the water and transported to the hospital, but FHP says he was pronounced dead when he made it there.

FHP says no other cars were involved and fire rescue said no other patients were found or transported.

This crash remains under investigation.
