FHP: Pregnant woman loses child in traffic accident in Escambia County

The Florida Highway Patrol says two people were seriously hurt, one of them a pregnant woman who lost her child, in a traffic accident in Escambia County Sunday morning.

FHP says the accident happened about 1 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 29.

It says on Nov. 30, a black Ford F150 pickup truck driven by a pregnant 21-year-old woman was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 29, while approaching Neal Road and a white in color GMC Sierra was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 29, while approaching Neal Road. The 17-year-old operator of a white pickup truck attempted to make a left turn from U.S. Highway 29 onto Neal Road, thus resulting in the two vehicles colliding. All occupants were transported to local hospitals and treated for injuries.

FHP says a 21-year-old woman from Cantonment is in serious condition and a 17-year-old man from Molino is also on serious condition.

FHP says the pregnant female lost her child in the crash. Her 21-year-old male passenger of Texas suffered minor injuries.

No identities have been released.
