FHP: Semi-truck driver dies in Santa Rosa County crash

A 65-year-old Texas man driving a semi-truck has died after crashing into the woods, causing the truck to become engulfed in flames on Sunday afternoon, according to FHP.

The crash occurred about 7 miles east of the Highway 87 exit in the eastbound lane on Interstate 10.

Troopers say they believe the driver was trapped inside the truck.

The interstate was closed down for smoke and the safety of the Emercy workers, according to FHP.

The Florida Highway Patrol Trafic Homicide was at the scene.
