A Florida Highway Patrol trooper from Pensacola was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after crashing into the back of a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning in Santa Rosa County.
Troopers say the crash happened at 8:55 a.m. on State Road 8 (I-10) at mile marker 37 eastbound.
A marked Florida Highway Patrol car, driven by a 28-year-old man, was traveling eastbound in the inside lanes when the tractor-trailer ahead slowed because of traffic.
The patrol vehicle then collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer driven by a 49-year-old Fort Myers man, according to FHP.
The trooper suffered minor injuries.
The Fort Myers tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
