Fiery crash in Escambia County leaves one dead, three injured

A 30-year-old Cantonment man is dead after a fiery two-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Escambia County.

Troopers say the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. near Woodbury Circle on US Highway 29 when a sedan, traveling southbound at a high rate of speed, crossed the median and collided with a northbound SUV.

The driver of the sedan, a 28-year-old Pensacola woman, was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in critical condition. Her passenger, the 30-year-old Cantonment man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.

The SUV’s driver, a 72-year-old Flomaton man, and his passenger, a 70-year-old Flomaton woman, were both transported to Sacred Heart Hospital and are in serious condition.
