Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that broke out in a storage shed located on Sunset Vista Drive in Fort Myers late Monday night.
According to the Iona-McGregor Fire District, the fire started in the shed, located off Winkler Road between College Parkway and McGregor Boulevard, around 11:30 p.m.
A Gulf Coast News crew on the scene reported seeing a significant amount of smoke coming from the building, with firefighters spraying water from a ladder and working from the ground to extinguish the flames.
Firefighters are still at the scene Tuesday morning, extinguishing the fire at 6:28 a.m. The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.
