Firefighters were on the scene of a structure fire in Cortez Village just after 7a.m Monday morning.
The fire broke out at a workshop next to a home in the 4400 block of 123rd Street.
West Manatee and Cedar Hammock Fire Rescues were able to extinguish the flames in under 20 minutes.
The owners tell ABC7 that their home had been affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton. They said they had just fixed up the workshop to help make money again, while their home was still undergoing repairs.
Cpt S Me sent video into the ABC7 Newsroom of the active scene.
There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Several witnesses told ABC7 the flames moved rapidly.
“I had just opened the store at morning, like at 7 a.m., and I went outside, and I saw the flames, it was very crazy there,” said Omar Faruque, the manager at Cortez Market, which sits across the street from the now charred workshop.
“I feel bad, I know him, he’s a good guy,” said Faruque, talking about the homeowner.
