Plantation firefighters extinguished a fire Thursday that erupted inside a home, first responders confirmed.
According to the Plantation Fire Department, the fire was reported at a home in the 9300 block of Sunrise Boulevard.
Firefighters said someone nearby called 911 to report that smoke and flames were coming from a bedroom window.
Multiple units responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze.
Firefighters said the flames were contained to a rear bedroom.
The American Red Cross is working to assist the family who lives there.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No other details were immediately released.
