Firefighters responded to a house fire at a two-story home in the Matlacha Isles neighborhood on Sunday morning, cutting through a wall to contain the flames.

According to the Matlacha/Pine Island Fire Control District, crews arrived to find light smoke coming from the residence on Boat Shell Drive around 6:45 a.m.

Firefighters located the source of the fire within a wall and, using a chainsaw, were able to cut out a section of the wall to expose electrical wiring.

The fire was successfully extinguished before it could spread, with minimal damage.

No injuries were reported, and the home was declared safe shortly afterward.
