Fire destroys half of home in Fruit Cove; no one injured

The St. Johns County Fire and Rescue Department on Friday morning responded to a fire in Fruit Cove that burned down half of the house.

The home is located on Hideaway Drive near Hawkcrest Drive. Eight people were in the home at the time of the fire, but no one was hurt.

The family said the fire started in the garage and half of the house burned down
