Fire engulfs 20 vehicles at Winter Haven car dealership

Crews battled a fire that spread to 20 cars at Jarrett-Gordon Ford in Winter Haven on Tuesday.

The fire broke out at around 10:40 a.m. in the service bay building of the dealership, which is located along US Highway 17.

The fire spread to around 20 vehicles and engulfed the service bay. Crews from Winter Haven Fire, Polk County Fire and Lake Alfred Fire worked to stop the fire from spreading.

The fire was under control in about 35 minutes.

In a statement, the dealership said that the fire did not originate from an EV charger or an electric vehicle battery. Officials have not released an official cause.
