The State Fire Marshal is investigating after a fire erupted Thursday at a two-story home in Dania Beach.

According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael B. Kane, the fire was reported around 6:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Northeast Second Street.

“Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters encountered a challenging situation as thick, black smoke billowed and flames emerged from a second-floor window,” Kane said in an email to Local 10 News. “Undeterred by the intensity of the fire, BSFR personnel promptly forced entry into the home and launched an aggressive firefighting operation.”

According to Kane, it took about 35 firefighters to extinguish the flames within 30 minutes.

He said no one was inside the home when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains unclear and is under investigation.

“BSFR underscores the importance of fire safety and urges all residents to remain vigilant in preventing such incidents,” Kane said.
