Fire reported at condominium building in Sunny Isles Beach

A fire erupted Sunday night inside a condominium unit in Sunny Isles Beach.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials, the fire was reported just before 8 p.m. Sunday in the area of 193rd Street and Collins Avenue.

First responders said heavy smoke and flames were coming from a unit on the 12th floor of the building when crews arrived.

More than 30 units responded to the scene and quickly had the fire under control.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is now assisting the residents impacted.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
