A fire spread from boat-to-boat at a Boynton Beach harbor on Friday night, leaving several of them damaged, according to the city.

In a statement, the City of Boynton Beach explained firefighters responded to a report that a single boat was on fire just off the shore of the Harbor Inlet Club. When members of Boynton Beach Fire Rescue arrived, they reported finding five people were still on the craft, and they helped the boaters back onto land.

The still-burning boat, however, was still drifting and ended up next to other boats that ended up also catching fire, the statement continued. The city did not say how many of them were damaged by the flames.

Video shared with CBS12 News showed billowing smoke pouring from the boats.

In addition to the city’s Fire Rescue, multiple other agencies responded, including the city’s police department, and the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Sheriff’s Office.
