Citrus County Fire Rescue crews extinguished a fire that destroyed a house and displaced its residents.
Firefighters from multiple neighborhoods found a double-wide mobile home on fire at shortly before 4:30 a.m. Saturday on North Pearl Point in Hernando. Crews worked to put the fire out and contain the spread.
The firefighters were able to ensure the fire didn’t burn overgrown brush and nearby vehicles. They also secured power to the area and got it under control by 5:11 a.m., according to a news release.
Officials say the property is a total loss and there were no injuries reported. After all hazards were addressed, firefighters left the scene at just before 10:30 a.m.
Victim advocate services were contacted to help the residents.
