Marion County firefighters rushed to a mobile home in Belleview on Saturday evening after a 911 caller reported seeing smoke through the windows.

Shortly after 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, several Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the 5200 block of SE 120th Street in Belleview.

The first unit arrived on scene within one minute, and crew members observed heavy smoke coming from a double-wide mobile home, according to MCFR.

Firefighters quickly used a hose to douse the flames with water, and they managed to extinguish the fire by around 6:25 p.m.

A power company also arrived and disconnected power to the mobile home.

MCFR stated that the occupants were able to safely exit the mobile home prior to the arrival of firefighters. Once the fire was called under control, firefighters searched the interior of the residence and confirmed that no one was inside.

There were no injuries reported.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause and origin of the fire, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.
