Columbia County Fire Rescue officials say the owners of Motel 8 on State Road 47 have fire damage to worry about, but it didn’t spread beyond one room.
Crews responded before noon on Tuesday and put out the fire before it reached other rooms.
Lake City firefighters, sheriff’s deputies, and officials with the state fire marshal’s office assisted.
