Firefighters were called to two separate fires in Chiefland on Wednesday, one killing four dogs.
Chiefland Fire Rescue, Fanning Springs Fire Rescue, and Levy County Department of Public Safety were called to a reported fire at Northwest 77th Place. Crews arrived and saw a mobile home was on fire. Crews quickly contained the fire.
Firefighters were called to a 2nd fire at the 7200 Block of Northwest 120th Street. When crews arrived on scene, they found a shed fully engulfed in flames. Crews put out the fire. Four dogs died in the fire due to smoke inhalation.
The State Marshals Office determined that both fires were accidental.
