Firefighters rescue pets from house fire in Jupiter

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the 100 block of Lakeside Drive in Jupiter following reports of a fire, with a neighbor calling 911 after seeing flames and smoke coming from the back of the house.

The first unit arrived on the scene in under four minutes and observed a large fire at the rear of the house. All residents had safely evacuated by the time firefighters arrived.

While crews began battling the fire, residents informed them that multiple pets were still inside the house. Firefighters searched the premises and removed all the pets, providing first aid to two of the animals on the scene before transporting them to an emergency veterinarian.

The Red Cross was notified to assist the affected residents and pets. A Palm Beach County Fire Rescue investigator is currently on the scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
